The design response begins with the realities of a dense Bay Area setting. Limited land, street presence, neighboring uses, access, and jurisdictional expectations all shape the viability of the operating program and the path through approvals.
Risk and optionality
The development work connected land use strategy with architectural massing, site circulation, landscape, building systems, and cost. That integration allowed the team to test the investment case against a real physical solution rather than a purely abstract program.

The architectural approach breaks down the building’s scale through articulated volumes, a disciplined material palette, and landscape. The result is intended to read as a considered urban building rather than a conventional storage prototype.
